Saxifraga stolonifera 'Strawberry Begonia' - 7cm

by Offshoot

$10.00

Saxifraga stolonifera, also known as Strawberry Begonia, Aarons Beard and sometimes Mother of Thousands, is in fact not at all related to the Begonia. It is a shade loving creeping, ground cover plant with great foliage and delicate, highly ornate and white flowers that bloom in spring. The leaves have silver veins on the upper surface and red-brown colouring on the underside.

It grows best in moist, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. It can also thrive as an indoor houseplant where it enjoys bright indirect light, although some direct sun (if not intense) will promote pinkish leaf colours.
